LIGHT UP THE WORLD

Yesterday, I attended Maggie Daley's wake. I stood in the cold and rain for about 50 minutes with hundreds of others, but it gave me time to reflect on her life and how she lit up the world with her smile and helping others.

Then today I read Phillipians 2 which stated, "Are your hearts tender and sympathetic? Then make me truly happy by agreeing whole-heartedly with each other, loving one another and working together with one heart and purpose. Don't be selfish, don't live to make good...

NO MORE

African-Americans have to stop taking and start giving and doing. We have allowed the system to take away our integrity, respect and identity. When I hear about the crime and violence in the black community my heart gets heavy. The first question that comes to mind: "Where are the parents?" Parents need to be held accountable also. The only thing that can change this scenario is family and faith. Let's start now.

My Mother
